Furniture Repair Technician Job Description

 

Our Furniture Repair Technicians perform various types of furniture repairs in our customer’s homes. From stitching upholstery to wood and leather repairs, our Service Team works to provide our customers with satisfaction with any issues they have with their furniture. 

 

Essential Functions 

 

• Inspect, assess, repair furniture damages/defects 
• Safely use hand and power tools 
• Communicate updates and/or needed parts with the Service Department 
• Safely operate a company vehicle and obey all traffic laws 
• Report to work for scheduled shifts on time 
• Perform other related duties or specials projects as assigned 
• Provide outstanding satisfaction to Turner’s Furniture Customers 

Preferred Experience/Abilities/Skills 

 

• Experience working with wood furniture, leather, fabric, and upholstery  
• Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills 
• Comfortable working with hands with an aptitude for craftsmanship, artistic and/or carpentry services 
• Ability to lift, lower, push or pull furniture up to and above 75lbs  
• Ability to stand, squat, kneel for extended periods 
• We will train the right person for the job 

 

 

 

Delivery Team Member Job Description 

 

Delivery Team Members provide excellent customer service through delivering and setting up the furniture our customers have purchased in the customer’s homes. 

 

As a delivery driver this means: 

• Offering friendly and professional service to our customers 
• Ensuring that merchandise is in good condition, accurately accounted for, and delivered to customer on time 
• Operating Delivery vehicles safely 

 

Deliveries are made on a 26’ box truck delivering furniture throughout South Georgia and North Florida. 

 

Essential Functions 

 

• Performing pre and post-trip vehicle inspections 
• Loading the truck in an efficient manner for unloading and confirming customer orders 
• Operating a commercial vehicle in compliance with applicable laws 
• Performing deliveries and maintaining customer satisfaction 
• Reporting to work for scheduled shifts on time 
• Performing other related duties or specials projects as assigned 

Required Experience/Abilities/Skills 

 

• Be at least 18 years of age 
• Possess a valid Ga. Driver’s license, a good driving history, and reliable transportation 
• Be able to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum of 80lbs 
• Be able to pass a DOT Physical 
• Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen 
• Possess excellent customer service skills
